Maix-Lidor Family Foundation
The Maix-Lidor Family Foundation was established by Emile Schneiter. The Maix-Lidor is a farm nested in La Brévine Valley that belonged to the Schneiter family from 1885 – 1938 and where Emile’s father, Paul Arthur Schneiter was born. Paul Arthur was part of a family of nine children.
On the eve of his 60th birthday, Emile Schneiter, known as "Milet", published the first notebook about the Maix-Lidor which retraces the life of his ancestors in La Vallée de la Brévine to which he was very attached. As a child, he spent all his school holidays there with his sister Louise, known as “Loulette”, and their many cousins.
Emile Schneiter, after completion of a doctoral Law degree in Bern, became throughout his professional life a talented and brilliant entrepreneur.
It was in 1991 that the idea of creating the "MAIX-LIDOR Family Foundation" was born, the main purpose of which is to support the descendants of the families of Ferdinand Schneiter (1853 - 1894) and Emma Bobillier (1860 – 1936) on Emile's side, and Charles Pultau and Elisabeth Braes on Marie-José's side.
